Wow! This is such a wonderful and realistic portrait of Thorin. I love the way you shaded, everything looks so smooth and I think that fits really well 'cause in my opinion cold always makes everything look smooth.^^ And I also really like the contrasts here: the bg and his hair is a really dark and cold sort of blue, while his skin is a sort of reddish-purple which makes his face really stand out and also makes you focus entierly on his expression and eyes. That makes the whole pic really intense. I also really like that wallpaper format.
I loved The Hobbit. You know, before watching the film I was a bit sceptical, because having read the book several times, I couldn't quite imagine how they would manage to make it into 3 films, but then as I actually saw the film it was fine. I like the bits they added and twisted (especially that they gave Radegast some rather 'big' scenes, I always wanted to know more about Radegast ^^). And the actors really did an amazing job, too. All in all it was really enjoyable and I'll certainly buy the DVD when it comes out.
I haven't read the book (and probably won't, I know it sounds weird, but I hated the LotR books, too ^^"), but when I saw how thin it is, I wandered, too, how the hell Peter's gonna make 3 movies of it Radagast was pretty cool (weird, but badass ), and Bilbo was awesome ^^ Still, the 12 seconds of Thranduil and Elrond's few minutes were the best for me
Thank you ^^ Never really thought about cold making things look smooth, but it's true You know, your style of painting kinda inspired this one I mean you use soft brushes a lot, and I almost never do that (I prefer hard brushes), but I tried out mixing the two, and using the soft one a lot more and it worked (well, I do have my limits, sadly, but compared to the rest of my stuff)
Thorin the Majestic!
Looks good
